About HenshallsWe are a major independent fruit & vegetable wholesaler in the United Kingdom, based at premises on the New Smithfield Market, Manchester. Incorporated in 1928, our continued success can be attributed to our ability to procure quality produce for our customers at competitive prices and by responding quickly to the changing demands of the fruit and vegetable market. The current Chairman / Managing Director, Gordon Murison, purchased the company in 1986 taking the reins from John Henshall, the 3rd generation of the Henshall family to have guided the company. In the year 2000 Gordon completed 40 years service with the Company which has gone from strength to strength under his leadership. Gordon's two sons, Andrew and Richard, are actively involved in the business. In addition to the the 4 large units occupied in the Market, the company also owns a substantial warehouse (719 sq. m) with refrigerated storage for 500 pallets of fresh produce and additional capacity for non cold-store produce. The strength of the company is in it's highly experienced team of salesmen, each specializing in a particular product range and supported by admin and logistics teams dedicated to enhancing the service provided.
